I called him Daddy!
From Niyi Oni
Today, I honor a man who was more than just my uncle — he was a father, a mentor, a guide, and a true example of love. When I look back on my life, I see his hands shaping me, his wisdom guiding me, and his love covering me in every season.
My uncle raised me with patience, discipline, and kindness. He showed me what it means to live with integrity and to walk in the fear of God. He didn't just teach me with words; he led by example. His faith was not something he only spoke about, but something he lived every day. He was a man of prayer, a lover of God, and someone who always believed in doing good, no matter the cost.
What made him special was his heart. He gave selflessly, not only to me but to everyone around him. He carried people's burdens as though they were his own, and he always found a way to encourage and uplift those in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and his joy came from seeing others happy and fulfilled.
For me, he will always be the man who stepped in when I needed a father's love, the man who taught me to hold on to faith when life became difficult, and the man whose laughter and counsel I will carry with me forever. His legacy is not only in the family he nurtured but also in the countless lives he touched with his goodness.
Daddy, I celebrate you. I thank God for the gift of your life. Though you are no longer here with us, the seeds you planted in my heart will continue to grow, and the light of your example will never fade.
Rest well, daddy, until we meet again in the presence of the Lord you loved so much.
